Fans disappointed in choices of athletes
The Gazette Opinion Staff

The egos of today's athletes amaze me. If Brett Favre, with his injury, would have stayed out of the playoff game, the Vikings could have come out winning. Now he can tearfully, emotionally announce retirement again, have an exciting comeback, etc. I anxiously await his decision. Not.
Tiger Woods possibly had the biggest ego in history. Golf has somehow survived without Woods. Hopefully, his wife and children can survive his attitude, ego.
Anthony Tucker, an Iowa basketball player, had two offenses, resulting in him not playing (until last week). He should have thought about his free college education, an important part of a team and other benefits. His choices affected many, himself and the team.
We average fans expect more from our athletes and are disappointed in their flaws.
