Fagan is committed to realizing vision

Brian Fagan cares about Cedar Rapids. Some, including The Gazette, have called him an advocate for the city, but he is certainly much more than that.
When many of Fagan's contemporaries were leaving Cedar Rapids, he chose to return to this community and make it his home. In 2005, Fagan stepped forward to run for and win an at-large seat on the newly established city council. That same council then elected Fagan to serve as mayor pro tem, and now he wants to make it official and serve as this city's next mayor.
Many called Fagan the face of the flood when he assumed the duties of official spokesman in June 2008, and the genuine affection Fagan holds for his hometown was obvious to all.
Fagan's vision was instrumental in laying the foundation for our city to rebuild. While moneys paid to consultants totaled $8 million, in turn, $75 million is being funneled back to Cedar Rapids for rebuilding efforts.
Cedar Rapids is at a crossroads, and it's more important now than ever that we choose a leader who has been there from the start. Fagan is committed to seeing the plans he helped formulate through to fruition.
