Faculty should help president succeed

To the editor:
As an alumnus of the University of Iowa, I support the Iowa Board of Regents in their selection of J. Bruce Harreld as the new UI president.
It appears that the faculty is doing everything they can to make the new president fail. As teachers of our children the faculty should show more maturity and open-mindedness. Instead they appear to have prejudged the president. They are behaving immature and childish when they don't get their way. A fine example to set for our students.
I suggest as educators they show an open mind and that they do what they can to help the president succeed. It doesn't hurt to think outside the box.
