Facts, yes. Opinion, OK. Distortion: No way

What value comes from a guest column that promotes degrading our society? Today's (Dec. 10) column by Thomas Cardella (CEO, Thomas Cardella & Associates) is an example.
If Cardella had his way on unemployment taxes, low-income people would be obligated to his extremely low wages out of necessity.
Sure, he is expanding to Texas; slave labor is more plentiful there. They have a greater pool of illegal workers who are in no position to complain about how they are treated by employers. He and his company would do a service to Iowa if they left the state entirely.
I've said before that The Gazette would do a real service to its readers if you checked out the information your columnists (syndicated or otherwise) put on paper and write an adjoining article clarifying the facts.
I'm not against opinions, but I am very much against distorting the facts and outright lying. Why do you have such a problem with this?
