Export-Import Bank helps American businesses

In the Dec. 10 edition of The Gazette, Americans for Prosperity (known as a well-endowed political group funded by corporations and major donors who support Republican candidates) had a full-page color ad denouncing U.S. Rep. Abby Finkenauer for supporting the Export-Import Bank.
Not knowing what the bank is or does, I went to Wikipedia to find out. It is a government-established bank with a board of American citizens with the mission to help small business understand and establish safe, insured international trade relationships. That includes our own farmers and all other local businesses that do not have the connections or legal help that large corporations do to enter the international trade world.
Obviously, this is something that Americans for Prosperity would find as competition in a world they can control and manipulate all by themselves. I find it strange that any group that advocates for prosperity would want to remove as 'corporate welfare” a bank with such a mission.
However, thank you, Americans for Prosperity, for paying for such a beautiful full-color picture of Finkenauer to be so prominently displayed. I can't afford such publicity.
