Expect higher taxes with Obama’s health law

The Gazette's front page headline on July 25 stated “Budget office: Obama's health law reduces deficit.”
How wonderful until you get almost to the end of the article: “Actually, the government will spend more. It just won't go onto the national credit card because the health care law will be paid for with a combination of spending cuts and tax increases.”
So, we are going to add another 30 million-plus presently uninsured citizens to the rolls and still have spending cuts? How do you do this without rationing health care? Maybe it can be paid for with tax increases, but didn't Obama promise there will be no tax increases for the middle class? Do you really think the “rich” can pay the costs of this massive program? You had better get ready for significant tax increases and/or “fees.”
New subject: Tom Lammers' letter (“Grasp current events to qualify to vote,” July 15) said I was wrong writing (July 5) that the unemployment rate was 4.6 percent when Obama was elected. I didn't say that. My letter said the rate was
4.6 percent when the liberals took over Congress. I hope most voters will have a better grip on the facts by November.
