‘Evolving’ was for the elite

I feel like the child who has to say the Emperor has no clothes. It is so obvious, it is painful to read news stories that appear to be confused as to what happened.
I will say it: newbo evolve was an extravaganza for the 1 percent.
I am sure it was absolutely lovely for everyone who could afford to participate.
For everyone else, I am sure it was super fun to stand outside with noses pressed through the holes in the fences designed to keep the great unwashed masses out.
I am all for parties. I love a good downtown jamfest as much as the next red-blooded ‘Merican. What I am not a fan of is closing public streets, and public spaces to the people, who by the sweat of their brows, paid for the very places the 1 percent used to 'evolve” themselves.
News flash: Only rich people get to evolve. Poor people get to survive. Public moneys, public spaces, should not be used to provide grand parties for the very people who already own all the properties on the Monopoly board. If an event is not open to the public, it should not spend public money or use public spaces to exist.
Shocking concept, right?
