Event for veterans was a success

To the editor:
I recently attended the Veterans Jobs & Service Fair put on by First District Congressman Rod Blum at the Veterans Memorial Building in Cedar Rapids.
The event was a great success, with over 60 local business and service providers on hand to hire and help Iowa veterans. It was clear to me that Blum's office invested a tremendous amount of time and effort to make this a valuable event for Iowans who have served our country. It was good to see that Blum and his staff were there interacting with our veterans to make sure they had all the help they needed in dealing with the various agencies of our federal government.
However, I was disappointed to not see any coverage by The Gazette during or after such a positive event in our community. I hope The Gazette will strongly consider covering future events of this nature, and I commend Blum for putting his words into concrete action on behalf of Iowa veterans.
