Even out-of-staters must obey the law

To the lady in Illinois who received a ticket from a city official and will no longer visit or do business in Cedar Rapids (“Visitor's ticket leads to loss for C.R. businesses,” Dec. 25):
What was the ticket for? Did she disobey the law? Or did an officer just walk up to her and issue a ticket, for no reason? If she disobeyed the law, shouldn't she have gotten the ticket? If she disobeyed the law, why should she “take it out” on the rest of the community?
Because she is from out of state, does that make it OK for her to disobey the law? Can we go to her town in Illinois and disobey the law and then never patronize her town again?
Simple answer. Do not disobey the law, then no tickets.
