End benefits to ousted lawmakers, just like us

National and local news media are rumbling about the inevitable cuts that we will have to endure in services to reduce our federal deficit.
I propose that our representatives in local, state and federal government accept the cuts that have been imposed on taxpayers over recent years.
Your term of service ends, so does your employer-subsidized medical coverage. Your employer is having financial difficulties, as the government is, your pensions will be reduced or eliminated as necessary.
I didn't vote on raises for our representatives. Seems like no one is watching the henhouse, but the foxes. My parents did not vote for the medical benefit system for these employees, then accept the fact they were doomed to less coverage for higher premiums. And I assure you my parents didn't vote such a generous pension for servants removed from office by the election process (in essence, laying off or terminating an employee not performing up to expectations).
Before we stick it to the little guy again, I say we take a look at the top of the heap and see where our true expenses can be trimmed or eliminated.
Voting is a necessary right. Let's start running this country in a financially sound manner.
