Elect those that cherish our rights

Politician, take note: You are elected to the service of your constituency, not to power over them.
Coloradans recently recalled two of its state legislators just months before a regular election cycle because they failed to represent the people they served. National media pundits will tell you that “gun nuts” in Colorado, backed by the “evil NRA lobby,” led the successful recall.
Truth be told, it had little to do with guns and everything to do with the failure of politicians to represent those who elected them. The supposed “gun nuts” were outspent 7 to 1 by outside interests promoting political power over the people. Those moneyed elites wanted to foist their beliefs on the citizenry of Colorado. And Coloradans would not stand for it.
Those politicians listened to vast amounts of outside money; not to their own people, nor to the sheriffs elected by the people in their own counties.
A national election cycle is upon us. We can reclaim our rights and again become the “Land of Liberty” by electing those who cherish our rights and liberties. Choose wisely. There is no national recall.
