Editorial stereotyped motorcycle riders, who are mostly responsible

You have stereotyped an entire group of people (motorcycle riders) by unfairly presenting one side of the story (March 23 Gazette editorial, “Muffle the motorcycles”). Bikers are more than noise makers harming society. Motorcycling consists of an entire package. We don't just make our bikes loud. We paint them. We add accessories. We personalize our bikes.
But you say the exhaust modification affects others. In your editorial, a police officer said it was hard to enforce because they are here, then they are gone. Such short noise exposure surely can't be as harmful as you and your sources say.
Most bikers are law-abiding, respectable citizens who support and promote many charities. As a whole, we do way more good then harm. Part of the package is making our bikes sound cool (we think). Sorry if we are a little loud now and then. We'll try to keep it down.
