Kudos to The Gazette for addressing the proposed restrictions on Attorney General Tom Miller ('Overreach deserves a veto,” May 2).
Miller was elected to office by the citizens of Iowa, who knew full well how he has handled the office for many years. I do not believe just because he does not toe the line of the Republican legislative majority that they have any right to curtail his authority.
In their overreach, they are blatantly disregarding the wishes of the Iowans that elected him. I agree with the Gazette's opinion that Gov. Kim Reynolds should use the line item veto on this part of the legislation.
