Echoing sentiments of ‘elder’ about election

In regard to Ms Belden's editorial (Dec. 3, “An elder speaks her mind on election”) regarding her life and current events, I must echo her words almost entirely. I, too, was born in 1934, schooled in one room, and heard the radio news about World War II starting that "infamous" Sunday afternoon in 1941.
The only major departure I have from her is that I am a male who served four years in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Otherwise, kudos and best regards to Ms Belden!
