Eagles' Vick should still be in prison

A controversy has endured ever since pro football star Michael Vick was caught and arrested for dogfighting. Many believe that since he has apologized, served his time and spoken out against dogfighting that it was right and good for Philadelphia Eagles owner, Jeff Lurie, to give him a second chance. After all, some say, the prison term of 19 months bankrupted him and cost him millions of dollars.
I believe that if he had not been a football star, no one would care whether he was given a second chance. I do agree that “it's never a level playing field for prisoners when they get out of jail.”
However, when any man's crimes are as heinous as Vick's were, the law should prevent any individual from returning to living among normal people. The law needs to be changed. Not only to stop cruelty to animals but to protect ourselves from sociopaths like Vick living among us.
I cannot believe Vick is no longer dangerous knowing that he once enjoyed the torturous suffering and pain he inflicted on helpless animals, killing as many as a hundred for over five years of dogfighting. Not only should Vick not be allowed to own a dog, he should still be in prison.
