Dvorsky protects education dollars

As chairman of the Iowa Senate's Education Budget Committee, I work closely with Bob Dvorsky, your state senator, on education issues.
I know I can count on Bob's support for local schools because he knows education is a key investment in Iowa's economic future.
Last spring, for example, Bob led the effort to responsibly balance the budget and cut a quarter-billion dollars in spending while protecting education dollars meant for the classroom.
I taught in a small Iowa school district for 33 years. I appreciate Bob's dedication to making sure every penny spent on education goes to the classroom and teaching our kids, not to the bureaucracy.
He is pushing to make class sizes smaller, create higher standards and increase choices for parents who want high quality pre-K programs for their kids.
We have to protect Iowa's world-class education system to stay competitive in a global economy, and I know Sen.Dvorsky will continue to get the job done.
State Sen. Brian Schoenjahn
Chairman, Senate Education Budget
