Draft those who are surly during anthem
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Oct. 1, 2009 12:28 am
This is in response to Jerry Johnson's Sept. 28 letter. I agree with him about the bad behavior of some people during the national anthem at the Iowa game. I have encountered such behavior before. When I hear the anthem, it brings tears to my eyes reflecting on the military men and women from our country who encountered injuries and death.
The only (letter) additions I would add: When stupidity takes over as in this case, I suggest these people get drafted to cure their idiocy. Are they the only ones who do not know there is a war going on? Do they not know someone over there risking their lives every day in a situation that will forever change their lives?
