Downtown doesn’t have much to offer

To the editor:
Mr. Mayor - forget the casino! Why are all these high rise apartments going up? Where are the shops for them to buy things? Oh, they have to hop on a bus or take a taxi to buy their groceries? Whoops! I forgot, nobody cooks any more. If the casino goes in; they can't afford to shop anymore. There, too, take a bus or taxi if any money is left in their pockets to do any shopping.
What happened to Cedar Rapids? Take a good look. You see not a soul walking the streets. There are no stores to shop in anymore. Nothing there. Hop on a bus or take that taxi to the malls. But that doesn't do much good. The malls are scattered all over town.
Let's get some shops in downtown instead of all these buildings. Put life back into Cedar Rapids. Make it a great shopping center that it once was. Is that too much to ask?
