Don’t negotiate with debt ceiling

It is necessary to raise the debt ceiling to pay existing obligations of our government. The Congressional majority has decided to hold the United States economy hostage by refusing to raise the debt ceiling. If it is not raised before default it would have a devastating effect not only the United States economy but the world economy. This is not something to be taken lightly.
The House majority is using the debt ceiling as a tool to negotiate without any plan for the future other than to "cut spending." If the majority doesn't get their way they say they’re willing to ruin the U.S. and world economies. This kind of behavior of a child who would rather break something rather than share it. It would hurt virtually everyone causing interest rates to skyrocket, imports would cease. It would cause a domino effect throughout the world. The solution is relatively simple, raise the debt ceiling then come up with a realistic and acceptable plan to reduce spending.
