Don’t let church become another victim

Not again! Remember the downtown train station? Physicians' Clinic of Iowa and St. Luke's Hospital plan to demolish the historic First Christian Church any day now to make room for - are you ready? - 40 parking spaces.
Few communities have been blessed with Louis Sullivan-influenced buildings and Louis Millet stained glass windows. We have both in First Christian Church. Cedar Rapids will be first to demolish a Sullivan treasured building since the 1970s. Other cities have caught on to what a treasure this is and in Cedar Rapids it's not too late.
The City Council, with input from residents, can still stop this atrocity. Come on! Wise up! Demolition is forever.
