Don’t judge Muslims by actions of a few

I am a Muslim. I was born in Iowa and I am also concerned about what is happening in our country.
Every Muslim I know personally does not condone what happened in Boston (last month's bombings at the Boston Marathon).
These young men did not do this because of our religion. They were making a political statement and used Islam to do so.
They are nominal Muslims who obviously knew very little about this religion. I say this because, if they had been students of Islam, they would know that it is stated, in the Quran, “If you kill one person, it is as if you killed all of humanity,” which is a horrible thing.
Please don't judge all Muslims by the acts of a few. Look around you and you will find we are good neighbors and co-workers. We are also shocked and saddened about Boston and 9/11. Peace is what we also want.
May God protect us all.
