Don’t compromise; vote out Democrats on left
The Gazette Opinion Staff

In the Oct. 3 Gazette, political scientist Dennis Goldford stated “If you refuse to compromise, you destroy politics.” Really?
In 1960, John F. Kennedy was a left-of-center Democrat. Today his views would make him a solid right-winger. I wonder if Professor Goldford's students are taught that the Right has compromised so much in the last 60 years that the center has moved drastically to the left? Doubt it.
And with the help of extreme leftists in our national media, universities and labor unions, the Left has had great success in blaming the Right as uncompromising and polarizing. But the Left is not only destroying politics, they are destroying our country.
Socialist policies put in place in the last century have been kicked into high gear this century. Socialism has bled us dry. We are broke. Everything the Left has done and is trying to do to this great country has failed here and everywhere else it's been tried. It's time for the Left to compromise. You know they won't.
Fire Leonard Boswell, Bruce Braley, Dave Loebsack. And if the replacements don't uphold their oath to do what's right for this Republic in two years, we'll fire them.
