Don’t be so quick to judge performer

To the Marion couple that found Bob Saget's standup performance offensive, next time do your homework ('Foul language no laughing matter,” Nov. 8).
Most everyone knows him as the lovable father figure from sitcoms and host of shows but remember, overall he, is an entertainer. Saget has prided himself as an adult oriented standup comic for years now. In different interviews Saget has expressed that for decades the only roles he ever received were for the button up, goofy, loving, clean cut father figure and as an actor he didn't like it. It was the only role he was ever offered to play and he was never able to challenge himself in different genres like many other successful actors have.
Through standup he was able to try out offbeat comedy with darker material and some do find this offensive but understand, as a performer, Saget tries various roles and material. The late Robin Williams did dark comedies with offensive humor as well. So, don't be so judgmental with your comments.
