Don't ask taxpayers to bail out pension fund
The Gazette Opinion Staff

I was really appalled when I heard and read in the news media that we are now being asked to replace the money lost in the police and firefighters pension fund that was lost due to the stock market crash.
Well, if that is the case, who is going to replenish my 401(k) that lost 50 percent in the crash?
I fail to see why the taxpayers have to replenish, repay and be taxed to death to take of the entire population. Where does it all end?
You can pay to take care of me when I am in the county home because you have taxed me until I am broke.
Let's get real, people; start paying your own bills like I have. I worked all my life to take care of me and mine. It's time that you work and pay for you and yours.
