Donations to Romney better for U.S. future

Within a week, I have received four solicitations for donations to help those in need. I receive at least three calls each week for other worthy causes. The number of these requests has risen sharply over the last several years. I consider myself generous and try to give to those in need.
Recently, one of these requests asked for a simple $10 donation to a local food drive. I don't know why this one caught my attention. A $10 donation to this drive would provide food to someone, a worthy cause.
But that $10 will only feed someone for so long. I will then receive another request for more money to feed them.
Without going into the conflict I felt as I considered this, I decided to take this action on all such further requests: If I am asked to donate $10, I will donate $10 but to the Romney campaign.
My rationale is that the $10 I send to the Romney campaign has a greater potential for a long-term fix to the problems this country's citizens face.
It is within each of us according to our conscience as to how to best help those in need.
