The world has experienced another natural disaster in Haiti. These incidents are heart breaking; the human suffering urges us to do all we can to help.
Of course, the donation of money and material aid is primary and those who are able to give those things should do so.
One of the immediate needs is for blood. Many people are eligible to donate blood; it only requires your time and effort and is painless.
One pint of blood can save three lives. If you feel you are healthy and able to be a blood donor, the laboratory will check your hemoglobin and for any communicable diseases initially.
The whole procedures takes approximately one hour. You will feel good about this effort and certainly save lives.
