Donald Trump must be breath of fresh air

To the editor:
Watching The Donald take all the air out of the Republican 16-candidate clown car is quite amusing. We can hope that he destroys the careers of Jeb Bush, Scott Walker and Rafael (Ted) Cruz in the process. They all say the same things, just dressed up in different shades of black so Trump must be a breath of fresh air to the electorate the Republicans created with their extensive propaganda machine over the last 30 years. Problem is, he won't be able to deliver on what he says which wouldn't sit well with his angry base so they will remain angry.
People like Lindsey Graham bemoan the dark side of their base. Where was he when they all bleated that President Barack Obama was born in Kenya, wasn't a citizen, and was certainly a socialist Muslim who would bring Sharia law to the U.S.? Not one Republican ever refuted any of this garbage. Now that Trump exposes all the racism that has been hidden behind closed doors since the days of Nixon, they are worried how this will affect the 2016 election. Well folks, you made the bed, now lie in it.
As one of my students said, Trump is the result of their mass dumbing down of America.
