Dog owners just asking for trouble

To the editor:
I know, I know, this is the same compliant voiced every year, but it is never dealt with. Why, oh why, do people insist on bringing their dogs to the farmers market?
I am a dog owner and lover but would never, ever bring my dog down to such an environment.
As a dog owner you are just asking for trouble – the large crowds of people, strange noises and surroundings, children running around and you bring your dog for what reason? The people with dogs and kids and strollers also have a cup of coffee in their hand or a phone. They are visiting so they aren't watching where they are going. You have to watch that you don't get caught in their leashes. You have to worry that two strange dogs don't get too close together or they might growl or snap at each other.
Please do us all a favor – leave your dog at home where they would have a much better time. You do realize no matter how well behaved you think your dog is, that an accident could happen and you would be liable for the actions your dog inflicts on others.
I no longer go to the farmers market for this very reason.
