Does the tax law benefit the rich?
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Apr. 24, 2012 12:35 pm
Am I the only one who thinks the tax law is for the rich? Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad made more than $190,000 in 2011 and paid $24,088 in taxes. He paid $17,777 in federal taxes and $52 in Iowa taxes, but will receive back from the feds $14,306 and from Iowa $9,924. He will receive back a total amount of $24,230, meaning he gets more than he paid in!
I want the person who did his tax returns to do my taxes.
