Does arena make cannibalism likely?

To the editor:
Yeah, I know I should just give it up, but the thought of Coralville looking at a 7,000-seat arena makes me ponder the likelihood of 'cannibalism” ('Coralville looking at 7,000-seat arena,” March 14).
Cedar Rapids lost its casino to an appointed five person (four with closed minds) Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission. This despite 60 percent plus of Linn County voters voting 'aye.” Four controlling voters supported the 'cannibalism” nonsense.
Let's hope an area arena commission of supporting locals can protect the interests of the U.S. Cellular Center from Coralville. After all, we must not allow free-market forces to penetrate decision making.
