Dobbs ruling headline at odds with facts

I have long known what I will get when I pick up a copy of The Gazette, and it's not an unbiased, fair take on the news of the day. But there are days that I can't resist the urge.
Saturday, following the Supreme Court's Dobbs ruling, was one of those days. It didn't take long to regret my purchase. The page one banner headline, "Justices End Abortion Rights" was one of the most egregious examples of journalistic malpractice I have ever encountered. Tossing the judicial trainwreck that was Roe did no such thing. In fact, in one of the two accompanying stories by Michaela Ramm and Tom Barton include a line stating, "No restrictions went into effect in Iowa with the court ruling and abortion remains legal in the state …" The headline and that statement are completely at odds.
Does The Gazette even employ qualified editors to catch this garbage? All the five Constitutionalist justices did was to finally invoke the 10th Amendment for something that was not in the Constitution and send the issue back to the states where “We the People" have the final say. That is what democracy truly is all about.
