Do art, wine suggestions bother you?

I don't know about the other rednecks on the west side, but I'm getting a little worried about the future expansions in the Parlor City downtown. It seems the city government can't decide which buildings are suitable for their part-time strenuous duties.
Also, you can tell when the lobbyists from the Junior League or Priority One are involved, because whether it's a year-round farmers market or a port-o-potty addition, it has to have an art gallery and a wine-tasting booth. Do you really want Grant Wood staring at you when you are munching on a four-month-old rutabaga in a January blizzard?
I guess I'm out of touch because Picasso and Thunderbird wine just freaks me out. Maybe we can get Whoopie & John & the Six Fat Dutchmen to do a concert and a fundraiser at Theatre Cedar Rapids. Yeehaw.
