DNR wrong to shut down golf fundraiser

Regarding the Feb. 22 story 'State orders changes to Sutliff golf fundraiser”:
Erika, Erika, Erika (Billerbeck). It must have been a slow day at the Johnson County DNR when you received that golf ball in the Cedar River complaint from one complainer. And then you decided to follow up and shut down the 30-year Sutliff tradition of fundraising for great causes - bridge maintenance and college scholarships.
Please, of all the stuff (it took my wife 25 years to get me to say stuff) in the river, a Sutliff golf ball is not your most important problem for the environment. You've tarnished the usual sparkling reputation of the DNR.
