Diversity is great if majority isn’t ignored

I find it interesting that a “private” elementary school would dedicate class time and our local newspaper its entire picture page (Nov. 4) to a religious festival presented during school hours.
This is not meant to be a criticism of that teacher or the newspaper's actions, simply an observation. There seems to be such a growing resentment toward anything Christian-associated with students, even at tax-exempt or private schools.
Day of the Dead is a celebration of life and death, when spirits of the dearly departed return to Earth for a family fiesta. I'm sure that was a wonderful time, especially for the Latino or even Catholic children in the class.
When my greatest holiday, Easter, rolls around, will there be any class time or media coverage about the true celebration of Christ's sacrificial death and triumphant resurrection, or will it will be yet another time of bunnies, baskets, bonnets and dyed eggs? Note that I skipped over Christmas, which has long since been given over to Santa.
Today's movement toward an all-inclusive diversity and awareness is a wonderful thing if it doesn't continue further excluding the majority in favor of the minorities.
