Disregard for others on interstate is evident

It has been several months since someone has written in to criticize the traffic cameras but Dean Bartholomew of Cedar Falls (oct. 14 letter) has broken the silence. I would guess his charges of the cameras being a scam stem from his receiving a ticket for speeding. I also guess from his alternate route that he was heading to Iowa City for a football game, but for whatever reason, his description of the alternate route indicates he will be driving more miles.
If you are saying that at today's gas prices you would drive more miles instead of obeying the speed laws, then I have no sympathy for you and your charges of scam.
I have driven I-380 on a football Saturday this year and I am glad I am able to keep my car insurance current. Cellphone use, texting, speeding, sandwich eating, drinking and general disregard for others on the Interstate are very evident.
Slow down, get to the game safely, have fun at the game, get home safely so you can enjoy the next one, plus you don't put me or anyone else in harm's way.
