Disgust that ‘Precious’ won’t be shown in C.R.

I am thoroughly disgusted that, apparently, not one of our movie theaters is bringing the movie “Precious” to Cedar Rapids. This movie has gotten great press and the actors in it have done the talk show circuit.
Is it because it is an almost all “black” film? Because we have less than 2 percent black population? Or because the movie heads don't think it could appeal to the masses?
When I first heard about the movie and saw the young lady who plays “Precious,” I couldn't wait for it to come to our city. Then I saw that it was only being shown in select markets.
I guess I will have to just wait until it hits the video scene.
