John Kass claimed in his column in the Gazette August 25 that Democrats had their 'hopes crushed” by the Mueller Report. I wonder what Mueller Report he read. The one I read said, 'If we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state. Based on the facts and the applicable legal standards, however, we are unable to reach that judgement.”
The Mueller Report also said, 'The Office determined that Russia's two principal interference operations in the 2016 U.S. Presidential election -- the social media campaign and the hacking-and-dumping operations - violated U.S. criminal law” and 'the investigation established multiple links between Trump Campaign officials and individuals tied to the Russian government.” When I read that I did not suffer a 'brief spasm of despair” as Kass suggested.
Again, what Mueller Report was he reading? The one I read noted an email from Russian-born real estate developer Felix Sater to Trump attorney Michael Cohen that said, 'Buddy our boy can become President of the USA and we can engineer it. I will get all of Putins team to buy in on this.”
Kass said the Mueller Report caused a Democratic 'fantasy” to collapse. I don't think he read the same Mueller Report that I did. I don't think he read it at all.
