Despite Cole’s postulation, we already know the problem

Althea Cole’s ostensibly logical column, in which she encourages us to continue to wait ad nauseam for more information about the latest mass shooter before discussing it belies that we already do know the problem. Our leaders are just too cowardly to act. There are too many guns in our country and guns are too easy to acquire. There are some guns no people should have and there are some people who should have no guns. The rest of the world already has this figured out: more guns equal more gun-related deaths. Instead, we regularly sacrifice the lives of children and then ritualistically call for thoughts and prayers — or write columns calling people to wait for more information — but do nothing of substance.
