DeSantis puts service above self

Having served on the Waterloo City Council and having been the president of the Waterloo Jaycees and Downtown Rotary Club, someone’s willingness to put service above self is particularly important to me, especially when it comes to leadership.
Unfortunately, it’s become difficult to find someone who is running for office with the true desire to serve. It’s clear to me, however, that Ron DeSantis is running for president to do just that. With a law degree, DeSantis easily could have gone into the private sector to make big money. Instead, he chose the road less traveled and decided to join the Navy after 9/11 to serve our country. He was deployed to Iraq, served alongside SEAL Teams, and returned with a Bronze Starl.
Now Ron DeSantis has raised his hand yet again to serve our country, this time in a different capacity. DeSantis is the only veteran is this race, and I would argue, is the only candidate who is running for president to actually do something, rather than be someone. This isn’t about him; it’s about reversing the decline of our country. Ron DeSantis is the selfless leader we need who will get the job done.
