DeSantis is not a ‘true leader’

I take umbrage at Sen. Amy Sinclair's characterization of Ron DeSantis as a presidential candidate "who stands out as a true leader." No one will ever forget the first Republican debate on Aug. 23 when all the participating candidates were asked if they would support Donald Trump as our president even if he were convicted of federal and state crimes. Five of these contenders for the highest office in the land promptly raised their hands like eager second graders hoping for a pat on the head. Only Chris Christie and Asa Hutchinson had the guts to make it clear they would not support him.

And, what of Sinclair's "true leader?" DeSantis looked down the line of his rivals before he raised his hand; he wanted to be certain he was going with the flow. This "true leader" would replicate at a national level the chaos and hardship he has created in Florida. Next to the Trumpster, he should be everyone's last choice for any office of trust.
