‘Department of War’ is what it is

While I abhor just about everything President Trump has initiated, there is one exception. I applaud the changing of the name of the Department of Defense to the Department of War. The “defense“ designation is a euphemism for the most repulsive and terrible acts which human beings have foisted upon one another. Our military services are replete with such niceties. Any euphemism such as "collateral damage" for the murder of innocents is merely a cover-up for such reprehensible deeds.
Moreover, our recent sorties such as the "Iraq War," and arguably the Vietnam War were hardly defensive acts. They were initiated by us! Putin, hardly a person to imitate, calls his invasion of Ukraine, a "special military operation." Let's call the Department of War what it is.
