Remember 92,000. It wasn’t rock bottom, but close. It’s the reason we lost what we did.
The number of Iowa Democrats who stayed home and didn’t vote in the 2022 election is the reason we lost so much. The results have played out poorly for our state. Yes, we share the blame.
All our congressional seats? Gone. Cindy Axne lost by less than 1% (1,100 votes) in District 3.
Auditor Rob Sand was the only Democrat left standing as a state official. Attorney General Tom Miller and Treasurer Michael Fitzgerald, both with 40+ years’ experience, moved into the “lose” column.
With Republican domination in the Iowa House and Senate, we’ve seen what candidates that run as “moderates,” but legislate as “extremists,” can do. Who knew Gov. Kim Reynolds was jump starting Project 2025 in our state the last three years with the hate toward public schools and libraries, AEAs, gender issues, and immigrants.
Iowans, lean into your moral compasses. You know the difference between right and wrong. Remember as you enter that voting booth, is what’s good for generations to come based on your vote
Now is not the time to sit out! Iowa is worth it. We are worth it. Our kids are worth it! vote on or before Nov. 5.
