Democrats blamed for economic disaster

To the editor:
It is interesting listening to the Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders campaigns say they are going to save the country from economic disaster. They have been part of the Obama team that has shown great ineptitude in its handling of the economic life of the United States.
When Obama first took charge of the country, the U.S. real household median income was $56,436 and it is now $51,939. Every year has shown an erosion of real household income. This is from the party that 'has the interest of the middle class as their primary economic concern.”
Food stamp use is at an all-time high. The national debt is at an historic high. Health insurance costs have increased despite, or maybe because of, Obamacare. The official unemployment rate is the lowest in seven years, but labor force participation is at its lowest rate in over 40 years. Is the unemployment rate this low because so many workers have left the labor force and have stopped looking for work?
Clinton and Sanders want us to fund college education using taxpayer money. If she is so concerned about the cost of higher education, maybe she should stop charging $250,000, or more, for speeches she gives at colleges.
