Democratic White House control good for U.S,
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jul. 17, 2012 1:11 pm
The detractors of our current president blame everything that goes bad on the White House. Let us follow that line of reasoning to its logical conclusion. If we concede that the detractors are correct, the axiom then becomes that every aspect of the federal government is always to the blame or credit of the White House.
Let us eschew the names of all presidents as some we may like or
dislike personally.
Then let us think over the last 30 years or so. The White House controlled by Republican philosophy for 12 years left us in debt up to our chin.
Then the White House was controlled by Democrat philosophy for eight years and we were left with a surplus. Then once again, the White House controlled by Republicans for eight years left us drowning in debt that we might never get out.
Unless you believe our huge debts are good, the only logical conclusion is that when the White House is controlled by Republican philosophy, it is harmful to the general welfare of our country.
Conversation over.
