DeJear shows true colors, and they’re not blue

Here in Iowa, we stand with our brave law enforcement. It’s not hard to see the issues our democrat-run counterparts have gotten themselves into, calling to defund police and decrease the safety of our communities. The recent rise in crime, vandalism, and disrespect for our law enforcement is dangerous to our officers, families, and communities.
In the meantime, Gov. Kim Reynolds is making it known that Iowa fully supports our men and women in uniform. Gov. Reynolds signed the Back the Blue Act making improvements to our law enforcement system and sending the message that Iowa backs the blue. This is the leadership we need in Iowa, one that chooses public safety over politics.
On the other hand, Deidre DeJear cozies up to organizations that call to defund the police. And when police officers were recognized during the Condition of the State Address, DeJear remained seated while everyone else stood to applaud. It makes sense that various radical groups who call for defunding police departments also back DeJear. This is not the leadership Iowa needs, and it will only decrease the safety of our communities and loved ones.
