Debt limit drama parallels biblical story
The Gazette Opinion Staff

As the drama recently unfolded regarding the national debt limit, I was reminded of the biblical story of Solomon.
In the modern version, the Democrats and the Republicans are the mothers who are disputing control of America, the baby. The damage to America over not extending the debt limit is the sword poised to destroy the baby if one side does not give in or a compromise reached. The Republicans made it clear that they would let the country default and, so, got “virtually everything they wanted” while the Democrats gave in so as not to harm the country.
So, who do you think loved the baby more?
