I have not previously written a letter but felt driven to write at this time for a cause: a person I believe in, Teresa Daubitz, who is running for state representative.
I have known Teresa for well over 20 years. We worked together as social workers, facilitating groups for individuals with mental illness. In looking back, I've come up with a few words to describe Teresa: energetic, reliable, a good listener, efficient, caring, empathetic, encouraging, respectful, engaging, and an advocate. All qualities that would be valued in a state representative.
I saw these qualities in the interactions Teresa had with clients on a daily basis. And though I thoroughly enjoyed the work we did together as social workers, something even bigger developed … a long and lasting friendship. Teresa has been someone to count on and rely on.
Seven years ago, my husband and I adopted our daughter from China. Never wavering in her support of this adventure, Teresa was always there whether it be a question I may have had, if I was seeking advice, or just needed a listening ear. Teresa understands and accepts people, plain and simple.
I know firsthand how Teresa can make solid decisions and advocate for those around her, having their best interest at heart. Teresa has the experience and heart to lead and make a positive impact in our state.
