As an intern with Swati Dandekar's campaign for Congress, I am asked frequently why I am working for her. My answer: Out of the entire Democratic primary field, Dandekar is the candidate best preparing Iowa for the future.
The world is changing rapidly. The challenges and opportunities that youth encounter today are unique and unparalleled.
Our next representative must prepare Iowa for the rest of the 21st century. Our global economy requires Iowa's children to be given the best education in order to compete. Her bold education plan, including offering Advanced Placement programs to rural Iowa students via the Internet, is a striking example of innovation and commitment to every child's ability to succeed.
As a student of science, she understands the coming global energy crisis. Her effort as a state legislator helped Iowa become the nation's leader in wind energy.
I stand for Dandekar because we need to create a sustainable America. We owe it to our children to leave America stronger than we found it.
