When I had the idea for the NewBo City Market, Dale Todd was the first person I called. He became one of the earliest champions for the project and helped me make the vital connections that ultimately led to our success. I called Dale because I knew him to be a person of vision and know-how. He was running the Southside Investment Board, a group dedicated to improving the NewBo neighborhood after the flood. He invited me to join the board and gave the Market a home, lending the project credibility and providing access to people who could forward the initiative. Without Dale, I question whether the NewBo City Market would be here today.
Dale has worked tirelessly for years as a volunteer on behalf Cedar Rapids from improving the NewBo district to revitalizing Cedar Lake. He deserves to be recognized at the ballot box. Please consider casting your vote for him as the District 3 representative to the Cedar Rapids City Council.
