Culver shows he cares about Linn County

Linn County voters have only one choice in the election for governor. Hometown boy Gov. Chet Culver, who rose to the challenge when the flood struck Cedar Rapids.
Terry Branstad called the I-JOBS initiative a boondoggle, ignoring the 63 projects it funded in Linn County.
Culver cares about Linn County and, to prove it, he has helped secure funding for the National Czech & Slovak Museum& Library, the Cedar Rapids Public Library, Paramount Theatre and dozens of other projects.
If Branstad is elected, the funds that have helped Cedar Rapids rise out of the flood will dry up. He will shift state funds that would come here to central Iowa.
While Branstad was governor, 40 banks failed in Iowa, as did scores of small businesses and family farms. He will further reduce government oversight and the taxes of banks and corporations, so middle-class families can foot the bill for rebuilding our schools, streets and infrastructure.
The Pew Center ranks Iowa in the Top 10 well-managed states. We should stay the course.
